Barbara Zapatka Scholarship

Provides scholarships for students from New Britain High School enrolled in the Secondary Education program leading to a certification in Biology. Students are required to have earned a minimum of 24 credits and have demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to members of an underrepresented group in the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics program who have exhibited leadership qualities as demonstrated by participation in a program or initiative sponsored by the CCSU Women’s Center or the Committee on the Concerns of Women. If no applicants meet that criteria, a student in any degree program leading to teacher certification within the School of Education and Professional Studies with 24 cumulative credits and financial need will be considered.
